This is an ET that I have been wanting to do for a long time, but I was prompted earlier this week by Colette, who did the same thing. Today I memorized the NATO phonetic alphabet. For those who don't know the NATO alphabet assigns code words to the letters of the English alphabet so that critical combinations of letters can be pronounced and understood by those who transmit voice messages, regardless of their native language. Now, I am not likely to be making any radio transmissions or joining the military or anything...but I think that this might be a useful thing to know anyway.
So - here we go - maybe you should memorize it too?
Alpha
Bravo
Charlie
Delta
Echo
Foxtrot
Golf
Hotel
India
Juliet
Kilo
Lima
Mike
November
Oscar
Papa
Quebec
Romeo
Sierra
Tango
Uniform
Victor
Whiskey
X-ray
Zulu
Some of these really surprised me - especially the use of all of the proper nouns. The place names would be a bit confusing I would think...but hey - what do I know? Anyway, it's nice to have more knowledge beyond WTF and now I feel very cool and like I know a secret language. Unfortunately no one else I know is aware of this alphabet so it's kinda a language all to myself...which is fine as I spend quite a lot of time alone.

I read your comment on Chasing 30. I almost pissed myself when you said that you mentioned Kevin McHale from Cheers. To be honest, I wish that was the only way I knew him too. I agreed with his picks last night, only to wake up this morning and see that he traded away all the talent he just picked up.
Ha! I'm glad you don't think I'm crazy. I don't watch the NBA, but I know how much it sucks to watch your team struggle and make bad decisions!
Trust me, I won't be watching the NBA much either. I would rather poke out my eye with a fork.
