It's been said that an extraordinary girl should never have an ordinary day [well, actually I think it's only been said the one time and it was actually "extraordinary guy" - but, details...] and over the next year I am aiming to achieve the extraordinary...daily! So - now that you're interested - here's the shakedown...
I was inspired by the jen365 blog which I stumbled upon from CNN - I found it about 2 weeks before my 29th birthday and thought it must be a sign.
Rather than doing one new thing per day, I'm aiming to do one extraordinary thing per day. This might be something I've done in the past - but the key is that it's something that breaks my normal routine in some fashion.
I need ideas! Lots of them! Currently I have well over 125 ideas, but obviously I need more to fill up 366 days [leap year]. I'm still working out the kinks, but hope to have a link at the top of le blog [hate that word] where people can drop suggestions. I will even give you a shout-out [as the kids say] if I do one of your suggestions.
On suggestions - I'm trying to keep this blog PG-13, so bear that in mind. I'm more interested in offbeat suggestions/learning type things...or even something you do daily that maybe others do not. Nothing like shaving my head or tattoos or anything. Things that are free/cheap would be awesome - or if you can help support something that's fantastic!
Why am I doing this? Well, not because I have an issue with aging, because I don't [shockingly]. I just thought it would be an apt way to mark the conclusion of a decade and to possibly help me figure out where the next decade will take me. Also, I struggle a bit with OCD/depression and I think this is could be a great way to set me free from some of that. At the moment I'm not feeling too much like an extraordinarygrrl, but hopefully that will change.
Okay - enough with the smurfiness! My Extraordinary Thing for today is: I got a blog. I don't know much about the internets [aside from it being a series of tubes invented by Al Gore] and I thought that maybe you had to pay to have a blog or someone would pay you if they felt you were important enough. Apparently, any old dumbass can get a blog. So, awesome. It's a bit overwhelming and I'm sure you will witness many changes as my mood shifts and I potentially learn what the frak I'm doing here. Sadly, I have no digital camera so you are just going to have to trust that I'm actually doing all this.
And yes, on your birthday lots of extraordinary things happen. However, I just thought I would go with the total hack move of starting the project as a kick-off for the project. That's just how I roll.

Hi!
I'm a fellow "thing a day" person. I started my project back in January; today was day #222.
I'm updating my blogroll with a list of people that are doing similar projects. I've added yours; I hope that's ok. If not, let me know.
