Day One Hundred and One - P&C Party

[is my spelling numbers with letters thing really pretentious? because i love it. i love spelling things with letters.]

Today is an ultra special three-for-one in terms of Extraordinary Things, so let's hop to it. The first thing is that I attended a Chinese New Year party. Actually, it ended up not being so much about Chinese New Year, but that was the theme for food and dress [for me anyway]. I asked Lisa for some help in an exciting greeting for New Years and I spelled it out on my velcro shirt [not entirely made of velcro - just the patch across my chest - and I don't care how much money it cost me, I love it]. Also, I brought fortune cookies to the party. Which brings us neatly to thing number two.

I went to a potluck without bringing something that I cooked. So I guess this could be interpreted as a "congrats on being an a-hole" thing, but it really wasn't. As previously mentioned I was struck down with a migraine yesterday and it continued today. So, I was heavily drugged and unable to do much of anything. So, instead of beating myself up over it [or not showing up to the party] I went to the party with two bags of ruffley chips and two containers of my favourite store-bought dip [yes, I had an ode to chips and dip in my SuperBowl recipe mail out and it really is my favourite appetizer, as Rory instructed us to bring]. And yes, I brought the fortune cookies too - they were a hit.

Thing number the third is that I went to a party and I didn't drink. Since I have been old enough to drink [note - this does not mean legal to drink, just "old enough"] there haven't been many times when I have declined a tasty beverage. However, with my migraine episode I really couldn't so I brought with me a big jug of knock-off Five Alive and I got positively giddy on all of the sugar. That stuff is not juice.
