We had a massive snowstorm starting at around 5am today and therefore I was unable to complete my originally planned "thing" for today. So...improvisation led me to my trusty Wikipedia where @ the beginning of each month I research all of the holidays and observances for the upcoming month. Fortunately, I found something for today that was easy enough to accomplish. Because, snow day = laziness [and I should know as I come from the home of snow days - I'm an expert].
Today I celebrated Wear Red Day. I'm pretty sure this is an American thing, although I know that the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation also has designated February as Heart Month. Anyway - I wore red [Hello Kitty hoodie] and I prepared a heart-smart dinner consisting of a five-vegetable stir-fry served with long-grain rice and dark chocolate for dessert. To be honest, I'm not really concerned about my heart/cardiovascular health. I'm young and I exercise sometimes and I think I eat well enough [especially since quitting my job - the closeness to Havana and the store was too much for me to overcome for my weak willpower]. However, I know that there are genetic considerations, but I think I'm still in pretty good shape. The less I stress the better.
