Okay - I know that I probably said @ the outset of this project that I didn't want a lot of big or too crazy ideas...and yet, today is quite a significant one. Today I officially quit my job. Technically, I quit my job before my birthday [the end of October], however it was not announced until today, so I wasn't supposed to be all public about it. But yeah, I totally quit my job. Wo-ow [Flavor Flav style].
Those who know me know that I have been pretty unhappy with my job for quite some time and that was a huge factor in me leaving. Waking up and doing something you don't like everyday for three years can really clean you out. I am not working in my field of education [any of them - I have many areas of supposed expertise] simply because I gave up. So, I've been squirreling away my money while sinking into the Super Depression 2007...so that I could give myself the gift of unemployment. I'm...cautiously optimistic [it's kinda my catchphase]. I really am thinking of this as a gift to myself - it was a hard decision to come to and since I'm full of the self-loathing I am hoping that this is a sign of more positive Shelby things.
So - early in the new year Job Hunt 2008 will begin!
