Day Two Hundred and Ninety-Two - Long, Luxurious Hippie Hair

I haven't had my hair cut or coloured in eighteen months [it was the same day that Brit-Brit shaved her head actually]. Yes, we went through some harsh times re: length and the colour, but that is all well in the past. I'm not quite sure what the plan is for my hair @ the moment so I'm just letting it grown and obviously it's also returning to its natural [and crummy] colour. I never really have a plan for my hair and just let my stylist do what he wants [although I like to point him in a certain direction for colour, I'm not bothered about cut/style]. Today I decided to do something in celebration of my long hair and to follow some advice given to me by Homer J. Simpson. This morning I lathered. I rinsed. And then I repeated. Then I combed out my hair and blew it dry ever [this is a special effort for me]...brushed it even...and the results were...underwhelming.

But still - I have always, always wanted to try the whole lather, rinse, repeat thing. I'm not sure why I haven't done it before aside from my innate sense of cheapness. I've recently found myself a supply of inexpensive, non-animal tested health and beauty products, so I was in a good position to waste some shampoo. Sadly, this resulted in no spectacular result for my hair. Just, regular hair. Which obviously is pretty darn stunning...but still, a little disappointing.

I don't care about my haircut either - I've never had a really bad one, and if I don't like it, it will grow out. I rarely repeat the shampoo step, but do on occasion if my hair is really dirty.

Same with me. I mean, I had some tragedies as a younger person - multiple attempts to give me bangs and perms. But I don't care about my haircuts so I just let whatever happen. When I last got my hair chopped from being very long other women [complete strangers] were completely freaked out and started crying. Bizarre.
