This was deceptively tasty and extremely filling - I could barely manage one bowl, even without any sort of bread accompaniment. I have cooked with lentils before, but never with the pre-cooked lentils [the kind that are in tins]. While I don't have a real point of reference with meat anymore [it's been too long] these lentils have a meaty texture - like ground beef, but without that pesky beef flavour. The chili could have been a bit spicier, but I will definitely make it again. And use coriander next time!

Day Two Hundred and Sixty-Four - Scenti-Lentil Journey
I think that my love of chili [or @ least my love of making chili - I enjoy making food far more than I enjoy eating it] has been pretty well documented. I have been making vegetarian food pretty exclusively [with the exception of sausages and sandwiches] for the past eight months or so. In this time I have fallen in love with making tofu @ home and using it in a variety of dishes. This was a big step for me because, while I have been vegetarian for many-a year - I don't like things that are used as meat substitutes [except for hot dogs]. If I wanted to eat meat, I would eat meat. There is no subsitute. Therefore, a lot of doors to vegetarian cooking have been closed to me. Tonight I opened another one and I made vegetarian chili with lentils. Awesome unmatching bowl action:
