Day Two Hundred and Sixty - All Star

Don't get me wrong I love the All-Star Game [even when it goes 15 innings and results in me getting too little sleep even for me]. It allows the American League to deliver a walloping to the National League @ more times than just the World Series. Also, the Home Run Derby allows us yokels the opportunity to see people bang lots of dingers. What I don't love about the All-Star Game is that for TWO WHOLE DAYS I have to be without baseball [okay, some teams are back tomorrow, but the Yankees and Jays don't play until Friday]. It's completely unfair. Baseball lulls you into a safe summer place and then pulls the rug out from under you with their midsummer classic. I say - nuts to that and tonight I did something about it [instead of just saying "nuts to that"] and I initiated the first annual Wii Baseball Skills Challenge. The challenge was a face-off [no, not face/off] between me and Joseph as he's really one of the only people who knows where I live [there's a good reason for that]. The categories were: home runs, swing control and batting practice. Afterwards we also faced off in a baseball game...but...let's not talk about that. Instead, let's check out my form:

Can you tell that I used to be semi-professional amateur little league baseball? Badly? I think I need a helmet for even Wii Baseball. However, I am proud to say that I am the 2008 Wii Baseball Skills Challenge Champion! What's my secret? Well, I'm not exactly A-Rod's soulmate...my secret is mainly that I chose to play against someone from Europe. They have no baseball there. He still beat me @ the home run challenge. I'm clearly more of a finesse player. Here's one of my awesome hits!
