I'm sorry to report that my days of official fun-employment are now over. Well, for the most part. Today I worked my first day at the Geneva Centre for Autism, my new part-time job. I will be working there three days a week, working in the Development department. So, working part-time means that I will still be part-time fun-employed, part-time destitute. Kinda the same old me. I suppose I will have to wait it out before resuming my fabulous formerly glamourous life that I had when I was working full time [please note: this might have never happened].
However, I am very excited to be working again. I'm also proud that I did this on my own and I think it indicates that I made the right decision when I quit my old job. I am now working in the field of my choice and I will be learning all sorts of new and exciting things. I did not want to go back to school to get another diploma [as much as I love school] if I could get the experience/skills another way. I feel like I have found that way. Also, this organization is amazing - they do excellent work, important work. For the moment I have decided to just keep volunteering and also do this part-time job and kinda take things semi-easy at least until the fall. It's going to take some getting used to - working without working 10 hours+ everyday!

Your new job sounds really neat! I'd love to work with a non-profit at some point. Congrats!
Thanks for the kind words! It was my intent to work for a non-profit when I left my super corporate job and I don't regret my decision. However, I am nervous about only working part-time...I'm trying to figure out the least crummy additional job I can take on.
Congratulations! That's really exciting!
