Day Forty-Three - Nouveau Quiche

Yup, yup, yup - another adventure in food [expect a lot of them as I am somewhat food obsessed]. There are quite a few negatives about this food: real men don't eat it, it is very 80s and it's rarely made at home. And yet...you cook up some mini ones and they sell like hotcakes. That's right...

Tonight I made homemade quiche with pastry from scratch. I have made quiche once before, but it was crustless. I have also never made savoury pastry crust [I've only made sweet pastry crust twice and it was a spiritual journey into darkness and madness]. The quiche was a cheddar and green onion quiche and it was quite delicious. I'm still not entirely convinced that making your own pasty is totally worth all of the bother [just like how I'm not convinced that homemade stock is worth the bother], but the pastry was quite tasty and flaky.

It sold like hotcakes. Rock on.
